Team Texas!!!!!
We are rolling right along at 3287 or 52.08%, that's the good news, the bad news is we need 500 more to make the target on January 14th.. We really need to get with the program!!!! I don't know if I had said this before but welcome Squadron 220 Nocona, and great work Gary Paul!! Listen closely to this announcement, IF YOU HAVE A CREDIT LETTER, USE IT NOW!!!!! It will be no good after December 31st., also keep in mind that Department will be on vacation starting December 24th., and will not return till next year. I can't stress it enough, TRANSMIT NOW!!!! Commander Arellano had a good membership tour in the 6th. District last weekend, 79 collected, way to go Commander and the 6th. District!!!! Squadron 453 is coming on strong as well, so the rest of us need to follow suit!!! If you look on the web page for membership and see something wrong. please look at my spreadsheet before you get your bowels in an uproar, and call me first. Next week my update will be on Wednesday instead of Thursday, and then January 2009. I will have a list of the 100% Squadrons that are under 100 members in the first report in 2009.

Well I am happy to say we made the 45% target date!!! Now, we need to work on the 60% that is due in January, so we need to get to work NOW!!!!! The AIMS Program is being repaired but most everything is right, check it out, Webmaster Winters has a link in place on our web page under membership. Next week will be my last update because Department will be on Vacation for the Holidays, so surprise me when they get back. Among the 100% squadrons is 517 West Tawakoni, great work guys!!! That reminds me, don't forget the bonus check if you reach 100% by the time Department gets back in January.

Team Texas!!!!!
We have met the challenge!!!!! As of today we sit at 2966 or 46.99% of our goal!!!!! There are some Squadrons that deserve special mention for reaching 100% or better, they are, 267,60,838,95,560,447,253, & 68. Great job guys!!! Our Commander is working to get the membership in so we can get credit for the target date of December 10th... Please keep in mind the 60% target is just around the corner, so get those members transmitted. Department takes two weeks off for the holidays and the target date is January 14th., so there is a small window to get the membership in and off to National. Once again, as I have said in the past, together we can accomplish the task at hand. I am sorry that I did not submit a report last week, but with Department making there move, the systems were down.

Gentlemen
Our membership is posted on the new program,the Legion web site is how you have to access it for now. If you want to check it out go to go to the Membership page and click link the reads "District/Squadron on Legion Dept. of TX. site". You can also go to the legion web page, click on SAL, and then SAL Membership. The rest speaks for itself, keep in mind that the numbers are right as best as I can tell, although you can not go beyond the 18th. District individually. It might be another 2-3 weeks before the page is up to snuff, but in the meantime I will continue my spreadsheet. Contrary to what the Legion web page says our goal is NOT 92,000.

We are currently at 2818 or 44.56%, that relates to 23 more members to reach the 45%, I am confident we will meet the challenge. Department will be in the process of moving next week but don't stop sending membership. The address will not change, keep sending your transmittals to the P.O. box. For whatever it's worth, we need 289 for 50% and I would like to see us there before Christmas, together we can do it. Just keep doing what you are doing!!!! We have an Adjutant from Squadron 37 that has put together a program for your membership and I will have it with me at the Mid Winter Convention in January, I think you all will like this tool to assist in your transmittals, Richard Grimes is the programmer from McAllen. Have a Safe and Enjoyable Thanksgiving!!!! Just a hint, this is a great time to see renewal members, Hint, Hint!!!!!

Well, it is getting interesting now!!! According to the National figures, when we transmit 315 today we will still be 182 off the mark!!! I know that the 5th. District has a convention this weekend, but we can not put the burden on them alone. Let's get that membership in A.S.A.P., don't hold back!!!!!! Another point of interest, if you notice the totals on the spreadsheet, there is a 27 member difference, I am currently trying to track it down, but we must go by Nationals figures regardless. Please take a good look at my spreadsheet and make sure my total for your squadron is correct. Work on getting your membership in to Department and let's see if we can get 45% by Nov.27,2008.

Team Texas!!!!!
MORE GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!! It seems we are closing in on the target early, we only have 233 more to go, so let's get with the program and get them transmitted. On another note, we have to transmit 1178 for the 60% goal in early January, keep that in mind. This last weekend I was with the Detachment Commander and the 3rd. Division Commander in the 15th. District, we had a very productive meeting to say the least. We collected 44 members in all, way to go 15th.!!!!!!Everyone in the Detachment is doing an outstanding job!!!! If you will notice, our goal has changed yet again to 6302, I know this because we got 10 more from Squadron 439 La Feria last weekend, and it could get higher, so keep up the great work you all are doing in membership. There are some Squadrons that have not transmitted in awhile,why???? We have had a few inaccurate totals but those have been fixed, please look at the spreadsheet, if your Squadron does not reflect what you have, contact me, but, have your supporting documents to back up your convictions.

GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!! We made it early!!!!!!! As of today we stand at 2343 or 37.24%, as you all know it is not official until National records it, but we are good. You guys have really been answering the call this year like you did last year. We need 489 members by December 10th., so get your members to renew over the holiday's and before!!! Typically, I would like to be at the target amount at least 1 week ahead of time, and you all have been doing it so far, so keep it up!!! Whatever you do, keep the 60% target date in mind, it is by far one of the hardest to reach. Keep transmitting those members, and I will give you an update next Thursday!!!

The results are in and actually they look pretty good!!! We are almost at 35%, but the target date is approaching rapidly!!! I the coming weeks, with more conventions being held let's try and get that membership in!!! I noticed that some squadrons are not yet certified, what's up with that??? We had a unique situation arise this week, and I would like to address it. When you send off your transmittal and the check for payment please put the year that the check is being used for in the memo, also, make copies of your paperwork, and keep them on file so that you have supporting documents if there is a question.

Well it is another exciting day in membership, we will transmit 270 to National today which by National figures puts us at 1950, however, we show 1947, here we go again with the phantom members. As I have always maintained, what ever National shows is what we actually have. If anyone can show me where there squadron is short, by all means let me know. I know where one on the phantoms is, it seems someone transmitted a PUFL member twice, not mentioning any names Squadron22!!!! Gentlemen, please pay close attention when submitting a transmittal, if you have a PUFL member it will be or has been handled by the Detachment Adjutant Kevin Winklemann. We are still 255 off the mark for 35%, as we continue with the District Conventions, let's get the membership in, we have a long way to go yet.

Team Texas!!!!!
We had a light week in the way of membership, but I am confident that with the upcoming district conventions that will change drastically!!!! We need to Welcome Squadron 220 Nocona to the family, they have just recently re activated there Squadron. Kudos also to 13th. District Commander Gary Paul for going the extra mile to make 220 a reality. Eventually we will post the criteria for a Post if they want to re activate or start a new Squadron, be looking for it, it will be a helpful tool. Keep in mind that the 35% target date is November 14th., we also have the hardest target coming up in January, so transmit that membership NOW!!!!!! As always I have attached a membership spreadsheet so everyone can see where the are at, the Department web page will not be functioning for approx. 4-6 weeks from 10/06/08, due to a National glich. Be patient..... We currently sit at 28.09% but as I have said before, it is not official until National records it, to reach 35% as of today we need an additional 434 members.

Great News Team Texas!!!
At this time we are still experiencing trouble with the new AIMS program, but I am told they are working on it. In the meantime I am sending the body my spreadsheet, so everyone knows where they stand. If you do not have exel, you can view it on the web page under detachment goals. I found out that I need to give a few at a boy's out there for outstanding achievement in membership, it seems that in addition to Squadron 447 being at or above 100% there are two more to add, they are Squadron 560 Houston 104.55%, and Squadron 60 Arlington 100.00%!!!! Way to go guys!!! Now the rest of you need to get with the program, the division race is on again as well, the standings are 2nd., 4th., 1st. and 3rd.. As of today we still need 307 more members to get the 25% target, which is due 10/08/08, keep up the good work, and for those attending the DEC, I will see you there.

Great News Team Texas!!!
More great news!!!!! Here are the totals for 2008 and 2009, as of today Department is sending 56 for 2008 bringing that total to 6278!!!!! What a way to get with the program!!! That is 100.90% of our goal for 2008. It get's better, Department sent 709 for 2009 brining that total to 930 or 14.81% of the 2009 goal, GREAT WORK!!!!! Keep those cards and letters coming, Your efforts are starting to pay off!!! P.D.C. Larry Black brought it to my attention that the goal for the 4th. District is off by two, it should be 853 not 851, all I can say is I never said I was perfect!!! The spreadsheet on the web page will hopefully be updated every two weeks after the DEC, in Sept.. I will also try to have an updated sheet for distribution at the DEC. The next target date is Oct. 8th., when we will need 25% of the goal into National, just keep doing the outstanding job you have been doing. In closing, I must state that these figures are not official until National records them.

Great News Team Texas!!!
First let me start off by saying Congrats to Squadron 447!!!!!! They are at 104.16 % of there 2009 Goal, keep it up guys!!!! Some more good news, if my calculations are correct, and they might be slightly off, the total for 2008 is 6,282 or 102.37%, but let's wait for National to post them. Commander McPeters, I tip my hat to you, this is an All Time High for the Detachment, Great Work!!!! This just in to the Membership desk, our 2009 membership stands at 864 or 13.75% of goal, that is outstanding!!!! You guys absolutely amaze me, if it were not for the hard work you all do on membership, none of the programs we support could exist. If you haven't noticed, there is a new spreadsheet on the web page with goals for each Squadron,District, Division and Detachment. I will try and keep it updated so you can reference it and know where you sit. I have been told that next week sometime we will be on the new membership program at Department, be looking for it. Keep up the good work and have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend.

Team Texas!!!!! We are off to the start of another year, and I have added a new membership tool for you all to use. If you go to the web page under the membership link and click on Chairman's Report, you will find a spreadsheet for membership by Division, District, and Squadron.It has the new goals on it. I will try and update it every two weeks, but if I fail one week give me a break. We have a BIG Goal to reach this year, so we need to get to work, like yesterday!!!!! We typically have 1,000 members by the start of Sept., and we are close, but close only counts in Horseshoes and Hand Grenades!!!! I realize we got our membership cards late, but let's put that behind us and do the job at hand, transmit those members, and CERTIFY!!!!!! As always I am here for membership questions, etc., so if you have a question, get in touch with me.

Well for some reason we did not get credit for 4 members as per National, which brings our total to 6224. That means we are 3 members away from an all time high. For some reason we have not had any membership transmitted to Department this whole week. WHY?????? Get that 2008 and 2009 membership in as soon as you can. Also, get your certifications in if you have not done so already. Department is changing to the new AIMS program from National, so, if you have a PUFL credit, be patient with Department, they are working on how to enter them in the new program. What this means in a nut shell is, if you sent a transmittal with a PUFL credit, you will not get the returned transmittal stamped by Department until the glitch is figured out. Don't worry though, I have been told that your Squadron will have the right count when it is corrected in the system. Just keep promoting membership and get those members transmitted.

As of today, we are transmitting 54 members for 2008, that brings us to a monumental point which is 6228 or a new all time high!!!!! Great job guys!!!! We are also transmitting 221 for 2009, we still need 402 to reach our 10% target by September 10th.,2008. Get those members transmitted!!!!! Please note, as we continue to transmit 2008 membership, it will increase our target amount, but don't let that make you stop transmitting 2008 members. We need to work on both years, and since we almost got every target date last year, let's Git R Done this year!!!!! Commander Arellano needs everyone to continue sending in membership and possibly creating another all time high this year. I said it before, but I will say it again, get those renewals in!!!! We still have approx. 1,200 members still in limbo. Keep doing the outstanding job in membership!!!!

Great News!!!!!!
As I told you at the Detachment Convention, we hit goal!!! This is not official until National posts it but, we sent 132 on Thursday to National which should bring our total to 6178 or 100.68%!!!!! You all have done an outstanding job this year, but the 2008 year is not over yet, we have a real shot at achieving an all time high. That magical number is 6226. We also need to set our sights on the upcoming year, for those of you that have certified your Squadrons you should be receiving your cards shortly. They sent them out this Thursday to those who certified, to those who have not certified, let's get the paperwork done. Keep in mind, the 10% target date for 2009 is September 10, 2008. The 2009 stats will not show up on the web page till some time after Sept. 1, so don't look for them before that. If I get communication from Dept. with regards to 2009 membership I will pass it on.

Team Texas!!!!!
You guys are absolutely killing me!!!!!! We sent 56 to National on 6/11/08, we only need 89 more members, come on guys, let's see what we can do about achieving goal of only 89 more members before the convention. When it is recorded we will have 6047 or 98.54%, we really should be at 100%, but everyone needs to work together and Git R Done!!!!!!!!! Like I reported in the last update we have approx. 1,200 members still out there, surely we can get 89 to Department. I am going to go out on a limb here, to the Division Commanders, which ever one of you gets 89 members in your respective Division before Convention, I will buy you a steak dinner Saturday night during the convention. This will start with what we got in today right up to 6/25/08. I know each one of you has 89 members in your Division, so make those calls or whatever it takes!!!! The restaurant will be your choice, but first you must get 89 members into me or department, just a little note, the 4th. Division has the lead with 3 today, get to crackin guys!!!!

Team Texas!!!!!
We are on the final lap of this race and it looks to me like we have run out of gas!!!! What happened guys?? Our renewal rate for Texas is 79.17%, that means we have about 1,200 members that have not renewed, my only question is where are they???? To quote P.D.C. Joe Ed Neal, there must be 1,200 bar card members out there, we don't need bar card members. I encourage every member to get those renewals, they are out there for the grabbing, we are only 145 from goal!!!! My advice to you all, if you have new members wanting to sign up now,by all means sign them up but make it for 08-09 year. That brings to mind another subject, CERTIFICATIONS!!!!!!! There is NO reason that all Squadrons, Districts and Divisions should not be certified by now. There have been some Squadrons, Districts and Divisions that have certified already, so if they can do it why can't the rest of you all???? Don't give up now, this is a very important time to get membership in, Let's Git R Done!!!!!!!

Team Texas!!!!!
We transmitted 101 members on Thursday, which will bring us up to 5801 when National records them. That translates to 95.54%, we need an additional 335 to make goal, and I believe as a team we can do it!! There are Division Conventions this weekend and I am asking all Squadron, District, and Division Commanders and Adjutants to fill out your certification of officers and send them to Department. I know you all have had your elections, so fill out the paperwork and then relax. The new cards will be coming in shortly and I would like to see ALL Squadron,Districts, and Divisions certified 30 days before the Convention in Corpus Christi. Part of our membership problem involves not being certified so you can get your cards, let's do something that has yet to be done, and that is certify before the Detachment Convention. You all accomplished some impressive goals this year, so let's end and begin with a bang!!!! If you have difficulty filing out the certification form, my door is always open!!!! Well the results are in and despite our best efforts we missed the 100% target date. I will say everyone has been doing an outstanding job this year!!!! Keep up the good work, we still have 768 members left in the Detachment that have not been transmitted yet. Let's get to work and get them in!!!!! It has been a tremendous year, and an exciting one to say the least. It has been an honor and privilege to serve as your Membership Chairman, and I know you will give the next chairman the same effort that I have experienced. Don't stop transmitting, it is not over yet, we still need to reach the members that have not renewed!!!! We transmitted 86 members today which gives us 5700 when National records it or 92.89%, remember that May 29th. is the cut off for goal pins,caps and certificates so keep working membership.

Team Texas!!!!!

WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!! 90% Yea Hah!!!!!!!!!

As of this morning we hit 5530 or 90.12%, and I think the Commander would agree, it was a real nail biter this time. The job at hand is to transmit 606 more members between now and May 7th., if possible. The 14th. is the target date, but we need to work harder than ever before because we are making history here. I know that there are several District Conventions this month, so make the call, drive to the Squadron, what ever it takes, just concentrate on MEMBERSHIP!!!!!! I would like to see some big numbers after the conventions, so start making the personal contact like yesterday. I would like to point out that the Detachment web page says 5551, but once again, believe me, the National count is all that counts. The National count after we transmit 239 members today comes to 5530, I am working on finding out what the problem is, but as yet I have not found out. To the Squadrons that have achieved 100% congratulations!!!! Maybe you can help those that are within reach by sharing ideas on how you achieved 100%. Team Texas!!!!!

First of all, everyone is doing an outstanding job!!!! If all goes right we will have enough to transmit Monday to make the 90% target, but more importantly, we need to start on the final lap of the race because May 14th. will be here in no time. Thank You to all who dug in and made those phone calls, keep it up!!!! I would like to mention some members and Department Staff who really answered the call;Robert Squyres,Bill West,Mamie Hughes Brad Pack, Ed Magers,Commander McPeters, Steve Vandall, Jeff Saul,Albert Arrellano, Alonzo Calvillo, Larry Black, Joel "Grumpy" Franklin,Stan Blair, and all the Division, District and Squadron Commanders and Adjutants. There are a lot of District Conventions upcoming this month, so be prepared to transmit membership!!!!!! It does not matter how small or large, just transmit!!!! I will give a final tally on Monday especially if we reach 90%.

Team Texas!!!!!

It is time to get serious!!!!! We are at 5362 or 87.38%, we are 160 members off the mark. The news gets worse, we only have until next Wednesday to get those members into Department. I am making a serious plea, ALL SQUADRONS, TRANSMIT NOW!!!!!! Do not hold back, my left hand has no nails and I am starting on my right hand now. Dig deep into those briefcases, desk drawers, or wherever you have to, dust off those cards and TRANSMIT!!!!!! If you can't send a transmittal until Monday, may I suggest overnighting the transmittal. We really need to push membership to obtain this target, so don't let Commander Joe down... Division and District Commanders now is the time to beat the streets, as always if anyone needs assistance call me at 800-771-6945. Let's Git-R-Done!!!!!! Together we can make it happen!!!!!

Team Texas!!!!!

Well we had a very productive DEC in Tawakoni, and our guest Mike Moss the National Vice Commander Mid West Region had nothing but praise for the Detachment of Texas. Today 3/20/08 we are transmitting 276 members to National which brings our National total to 5292 (When it is Recorded) or 86.24%!!!! That is real good, but we have to work on getting the 90% target this coming week, which amounts to 231 members. I know some of you still have membership that you have not transmitted, well now is the time!!!!!! We have accomplished every target date so far, there is no reason to stop now, it is time to buckle down and work harder than we have all year. Together we can do it!!!!! If you have any concerns about membership please do not hesitate to contact me. My prediction is that we will obtain all the target dates with a little room to spare. Don't make a liar out of me!!!!! Team Texas!!!!!

Again another week of GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!! Department is sending 205 members to National which will put us at 5019 or 81.79% !!!!!!!!!!! You all have been doing an outstanding job and I commend you on your hard work, now for the task at hand, we need 504 more members for 90%. I would like to see us reach that target early as well, together we can do it!!! The Spring DEC is coming up, so get those transmittals together and present them to me and let's leave the DEC with 87%. As I mentioned earlier, if you reach your goal with the transmittal at the DEC, I will consider that before the Legion birthday which will (Depending on your squadron goal) make your squadron eligible for a check, be it $25.00 or $50.00... I have been working with Robert Squyres at Department to see if we can add another feature to the membership web page. This feature will be similar to the Legion membership web page in that it will have the Division Rankings as well. Give us time to get it figured out. Again, if I can be of any assistance please contact me, and I need to apologize to Squadron 297 Benbrook for not being able to attend their coffee tour, sorry guys, it was beyond my control. One last bit of congratulations to Darrouzett 635 for transmitting, get the rest in guys.

Team Texas,

I don't necessarily give two reports in a week but I have some real good news!!!!!! It seems Friday 2/22/08 was a good day for membership, we picked up 100+ members which put us at 4944 or 80.57%!!!! I know the web site reflects more but trust me my figure is right. I would like to congratulate Squadron 486 Zapata for turning in 23 members and making 115%, all I can say is welcome back guys!!!! Another Squadron of notoriety is Squadron 159 Bryan, I am happy to see you all are with the team, keep transmitting so you can reach 100%. To all the Squadrons that have been with us from the beginning, keep up your good work because the 90% target is due on April9th., which is not that far away. It is my hope that we can obtain the 90% a week before the target date and start working on the final stretch to 100%. Again, keep up your diligence towards membership and TOGETHER we can make it happen!!!!!!

Hello Team Texas!!!

Membership is moving along well but as of today we have not reached the 80% target yet. We transmitted 141 today giving us a National total of 4829 or 78.69%. That leaves 80 more members to obtain 80%, I know we can do it next week. After that hurdle it is time to start working on the 90% due on April 9th.. Let's get to work and send in those transmittals!!!! Another subject I would like to bring up is for the Squadrons with 100 or more members, if I receive the transmittal that brings your Squadron to 100% at the DEC, I will consider that within the deadline date and you will receive a $50.00 check. For those Squadrons under 100 members, the same rule will apply but you will only get a check for $25.00. Let's get motivated and work on membership, I know some of you are at 100% already, that's terrific, but for those who are not, let's put the nose to the grind stone and Git-R-Done!!!!!!!

Team Texas,

As I told you in the last report we hit the 75% target date, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! We presently have 4803 members in at Department, I know the web page says 4813, but thee is a correction to be made. Anyway, we are at 78.27% which means one thing, we are 106 members away from the 80% goal, of which I know we have 13 coming from Zapata 486 so that leaves 93. Together we can get this done by the end of next week. If that happens we need to work on yet another large target to hit. After the 80% is reached we need 613 to obtain the 90% by April 9th.. So as a personal challenge let's get the 80% early so we can be 91 or 92% by April!!!!

Team Texas,

Well Team Texas it is official!!!!!! Together we did it!!!!! We stand at 4693 by National Stats, I know the our web page says 4696 and I am still working on it. Since the Detachment Mid-Winter Convention we sent an amazing 567 members!!!!!! Like I stated earlier our web page and the actual National tally usually never match having a 3 member difference is not bad. We will find those ghost members and send the ghost busters after them. Next order of business is the 80% goal due in March, keep up the good work and get that target early because we will have a tough one coming up. We currently need 216 members for 80%, which should be a walk in the park, since we have achieved tougher goals earlier in the year.

Team Texas,

As of today we hit 4652 or 75.81%, that is an un official figure but I wanted to spread the good word. When it is confirmed by Department I will let you all know. This will be a great shot in the arm for not only the Detachment but the Mid West Region as well. The Mid West Region is in first place but by a very narrow margin. Now we need to get to work on yet another goal, that is the 80%, if my figures are correct we need only 257 members. This brings up a good point, let's try and reach the 80% early so that we have more time to get the 90% in April. We need to stay ahead of the game, I would like to welcome Squadron 486 back in the swing!!! We have upcoming Spring Conventions so get those members in!!!!

Team Texas, Once again we are running it right down to the wire, there was a mis-calculation on the last report that was caught by 13th. District Commander Gary Paul and has been corrected. As of today we stand at 4572 or 74.51%. We need 30 more members and we need them NOW!!!!! A transmittal will be sent out on 2/7/08, so we need to buckle down and get those members transmitted to Department, A.S.A.P.!!!!!!! This is yet the hardest target to hit, so let's show Commander Mc Peters that we can do it!!!! If you need assistance with any part of your paperwork, call me at 800-771-6945, please no 2 a.m. calls. Team Texas, I just want to clarify something that is on the web page. The goal shown is the Detachment goal, the National goal is 6136. I know that there is a 316 member difference but, the Detachment goal is calculated by adding 2 members to the previous years membership total. We had 6502 on there forever, but with the assistance of Detachment Adjutant Kevin Winklemann and Robert Squyres, Director of Internal Affairs at Department it has been adjusted. That being said, we need to keep our eye on the National total of 6136 and see if we can obtain the Detachment total of 6452.

Gentlemen,

I waited until it was official, but I can say we surpassed the target for 60%. So much so that the correct percentage is 62.50%, we need to buckle down now and really get to work.

The 75% target date is Feb.13th. which is not that far away, we need to try and get the members transmitted as soon as possible because running right to the wire is making me an old man before my time. Basically we need 767 more members in a months time, the total members needed is 4602, please clean out those desk drawers and brief cases that might have membership in them.

I also know that some Squadrons have new members and we are trying to get the blank cards to those of you that this pertains to. If you need blank cards or other membership supplies let us know. I also know that there is an abundance of renewals still out there, get them paid up and transmitted.

For those of you who do not know there was one heck of a team effort put forth to obtain the 60% target, to those who helped I say "Thank You", again.

Gentlemen,

It seems we got some help with the membership to make the 60% target, after I called some of you the response was tremendous!!! My thanks go out to the following, Jeff Saul 4th. District Commander, Ed Magers Squadron 453 Adjutant, Abel Silva Squadron 321 Adjutant, Gary Winters Squadron 231 Adjutant, John Schendel Squadron 179 Adjutant, and all others within the Detachment that got the job done!!!!! Collectively as of yesterday at about 10 p.m. we had 60 members that will be at Department on Monday morning thanks to Detachment Commander McPeters wife Robin. There may be more but that is what I know of right now. This was truly a TEAM effort. Again, Thanks Team Texas for your hard work in helping to "Git-R-Done!!!!!!!!! Now let's go to work on the next target date in February which is 75%!!!!!

The following is a list of the Squadrons that hit 100% by January 3,2008. All are under 100 member goals, there were no Squadrons with a goal of 100 or better that hit 100% by January 3rd..

As you can tell, they are not in numeric order. If I have overlooked anyone Squadron please contact me. Don't forget the Squadrons over 100 members have until the Legion Birthday and those under 100 have another chance, you can get a $25.00 credit if you reach 100% by the Legion Birthday. Merry Christmas Team Texas!!!!!!

This will be the last report I will give until Jan. 3rd. when department will be back in operation after the Christmas and New Years vacation. There is however great news, as of today 12/21/07, we are at 3391 members. I am going to give you some percentages but don't get confused, if you use the old goal of 6108 we are at 55.51%, but if you use the new goal of 6158 it is 55.06%. The new goal for 2008 is 6158, which means we ended 2007 with 6158. Over the holiday season we need to concentrate on getting those transmittals ready to send and be in Department when they get back. Get to crackin and renew and recruit this holiday season, we are only 304 members away, you guys can do it!!!! Make our Commander proud and send in the members!!!!!!! Remember, sandbaggers will be shot!!!!!!! Don't hold back, now is the time to take action!!!!! In closing let me say, May You and Your Families have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and remember the troops who are serving to protect our freedoms.

Great News Team Texas!!!!!! As our Adjutant stated in a previous e-mail address, we made the 45% and then some!!!! 46.34% to be exact. You guys are really pulling in the way of membership, keep up the great work!!!! We transmitted 269 more today which puts us at 50.75%, or 9.25% off the 60% target. Department is going to send another transmittal next week as well due to the Christmas holiday, so get to work on sending in as many as you can because the 60% target is January 9th.!!!!! Department will be open again on January 3rd., so transmit as many as you possibly can!!! Just to mention a few, the 17th. District and my home district, the 15th. need to get with the program!!!! There are others but the list is long, take the time to check out the web site to see where you are and let's get to work. We need 565 more members for the next target date, so as I said before "Let's get crackin!!". I know Team Texas can do it, so show me that I am right!!!! I will update you all next week, let's make the postal service do there job getting the membership to Department. Together we can make it happen, Communication is the Key to Membership and as the Commander says, "Membership is the Key to Our Success!!".

Congratulations Team Texas!!!!!!!!! With the "Mutual Helpfulness", of the Department of Texas we will have obtained the 45% and them some. I promise I checked these figures twice, as of today we are at 2828. There was a transmittal of 199 made today thanks to Department. National has us at 2631 or 43.07% of our goal of 6108. With the additional 199 that brings us to a total of 2830 or 46.33%!!!!! 2631+199=2830 divided into 6108 = 46.33%. You all are doing an outstanding job!!!!! Keep it up because the 60% target date is upon us in January 2008. We need 835 to obtain 60%, let's get to crackin', we can make this a membership year to remember. Once this has been verified by National I will let you all know. Re fuel for the next lap of the race!!! If Kansas doesn't gain any speed we will get to wave at them when we pass them and Wyoming and be in first place for once!!!! On another note the new goal will be 6149 for 2007, but it has not been recorded by National yet. Even if it was our goal we would be at 46.02%. As stated by the Adjutant we have met the 35% Target date with a few days to spare. Now we need to focus on what has become a hard target to hit, the 45% on December 12th.

The membership keeps coming in and that is a good thing, if you haven't noticed the new goal is 6108, which means 2748, but we already have 2186 into National. That leaves 562 to go, but it gets better, we have received 2331 as of 11/9/07 at Department. We only need 955 by December 12th., if you will look at the web page, whoever is below 35% needs to renew and recruit and get the members into Department.

For those of you above 35% keep the pace going, you are all doing a spectacular job!!!!!

Just a foot note, we only need 117 members for the 2007 year to be at all time high, let's see if we can achieve that goal as well.

One closing note, remember those veterans that paid the ultimate price to protect the freedoms that some Americans take for granted, and to those who are alive with us with a wealth of knowledge through there service to our country, and those who are currently serving to preserve it.

I have some good news and some not so good news, first the good news, we obtained 44.51% as of 11/29/07 with 2709 but now for the bad news. Due to circumstances beyond our control the next time Department is willing to make another transmittal is 12/14/07, which means we missed the 45% target date. Unfortunately this can not be avoided at this time. You all are doing an outstanding job, and I encourage you to keep doing what you are doing.

The other good news is we can set our sites for the 60% goal on January 9th. 2008. The transmittal date is follows, 12/14/07 , I don't know at this time if Department will transmit before the holiday vacation, but as always, when I find out I will let you know. To obtain the 60 % target we need 407 members, and the sooner we can get them in the better. I will give you an update next week so we know how hard we need to work!!!

Again I can only report the facts that are supplied to me.

As of 11/02/07 Department shows us at 2257, which if you use the old goal of 6084 is 37.09 %, but as of 10/26/07 the new goal will be 6132. That is still not bad because it is 36.81%, either way we have made the 35% goal and need to look forward to the 45% goal on December 12th. Get those members transmitted!!!!! As always keep the 2007 transmittals coming, but we have a real chance at hitting all the target dates this year. We only have 502 members for 45% and almost over a month to do it in, so beat the streets guys!!!!! The Mid West Region needs our support to stay out of last place Nationally, so let's show them what Texas is made of. I have noticed some Squadrons are not certified, District and Division Commanders, let's get with the program and get them certified!!!! We have 27 Squadrons not certified, check the web to see who they are and get it taken care of.

Gentlemen,

We are rolling right along but we need a big push this next week if we expect to hit the 35% target date. The Detachment is at 1594 or 26.15% of the new goal of 6095. We need 2133 for the 35% or 539 members, to the best of my ability I estimate we transmitted 192 on 10/20/07 which leaves a remainder of 347. The Mid West Region needs our help to get into 2nd. place, so come on Team Texas let's get those members transmitted!!!! If I am right and the membership is accepted by National that will put us at 29.30%. No pun intended but we just squeaked by the last target date!!!! Commander McPeters is on a roll of hitting all the target dates, so we can't let him down, renew and recruit your members and transmit!!!! The next time Department will sign checks and send a transmittal is 11/08/07, keep that in mind because that is when we need to have as much membership in so we can obtain the next goal!!!! That brings up another issue, for those of you that have been hovering over your mailbox for your expense check, it is on it's way. You should receive it this week sometime, if you do not receive it by Friday 11/2/07 get in touch with Finance Officer Larry Black. The reason it has taken so long for this round of checks is Department only cuts checks twice a month so I am confident that our Finance Officer submitted the vouchers on time but Department must have been busy, for that I attribute the delay. The 17th. District needs to get with the program on membership, come on Roger I know you can do it!!!!!

Gentlemen,

If you got the last e-mail from the Adjutant and you see that National shows us at 718, don't panic!!! I have checked with Department Adjutant West, he has informed me that they have the evidence that we have indeed transmitted what was originally shown last Wednesday. He is sending our documents to National to get this corrected. This problem with National probably will not be corrected until the end of next week. Rest assured, the Department counted there paperwork twice, so it is a matter of getting it straight with National. As of 9/25/07 Department has received 1402 members for 2008, which is 22.96% of the 6104 goal. As I said earlier the goal will more than likely go up but keep the transmittals coming in.To explain the goal situation, it will keep rising until December 31,2007, at that time we will know what our 2008 goal is.

Remember, October 11th. is the target date for 25%, let's get r done for Commander McPeters so we can go to the NEC with our 25% plus in Oct..

Great News!!!!! First of all, if you haven't noticed the goals are in place on the web, check them out!!! The total for the Detachment is wrong but we are working on that. If all the cards were transmitted today we would be at 955 or 15.76%, but hang on a minute. It has to be accepted by National and the goal at National will change. I will have available at the DEC, limited copies of the goals by District so you can see where your squadron is and needs to be. I am trying to keep you all informed to the best of my ability, so bare with me, I can only pass on what information I am limited to.

Gentlemen, I have some great news!!! As of Wednesday 8/21/07 we were at 649 members received at Department, which is 10.61% of our new goal of 6029. Great work!!! Keep it up guys, the goal from national is likely to change but I will keep you updated. Don't stop, because we need to keep the percentage up for the fact that our goal may (probably will) go up. Kudos to Ken Peters and the 6th. District!!! You guys are coming on real strong, keep going!!! Don't forget to hustle the 2007 membership as well. The new goals will be out after the National Convention, so be looking for them.

Gentlemen, The National Organization sent out a report and it shows our goal for 2007-2008 as 6029!!! You all know what that means, get those transmittals coming in!!!!! The 2007 year is still going strong in the membership department, don't stop now. We need to concentrate on both 2007 as well as 2008 membership. I have noticed some Squadrons are still not certified, let's get that done. The August 13 report form on membership for 2007 shows some impressive numbers there but let's make them grow higher.

Gentlemen, Sorry this is so late in getting out.... I have a revised membership total as of 7/20/07,  it seems I put my mouth in gear before my brain was engaged!!!

The results are what Department has received as of 7/20/07,  I misquoted the figures so forget the last e-mail. I will try not to do it again!!!  We do have 391 members still out there,  so let's get them transmitted.

Gentlemen,  Once again we have Squadrons sending in two transmittal reports and only one check!!!!  Please be careful when making out your reports.  I know we have said it before, but, I guess we need to say it again. When transmitting two different years submit two different checks, one for each year.

At this time we need Squadron 208 Kerrville to send one check for 2007 in the amount of $60.00 and one check for 2008 in the amount of $30.00. If you are from this Squadron please get this done A.S.A.P.!!!  They are holding your transmittals at my request until 7/23/07.  The other Squadron is Mansfield#624, you need to make out two checks as well, one check for 2007 for $30.00 and one check for 2008 in the amount of $240.00. Department is holding your transmittal also until 7/23/07. They will return your checks that were mailed incorrectly.

Let's get a handle on this matter please, because Department does not necessarily hold paperwork.  Division and District Commanders, please assist the Squadrons and get the word out.

Again, send a separate check for EACH YEAR!!!!!
